Editorial & Peer Review Process

1. Overview

The Journal of Electrical Engineering Research (JOEER) upholds rigorous editorial and peer review standards to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all published work. All submitted manuscripts go through a structured evaluation process before publication.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

After submission via the OJS platform, each manuscript is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor to determine:

  • Relevance to the journal's scope
  • Compliance with submission guidelines
  • Basic quality and originality
  • Plagiarism check (using tools such as Turnitin)

[Note] Manuscripts not meeting basic standards will be desk-rejected without external review.

3. Peer Review Process

The journal uses a double-blind peer review model, in which:

  • Authors do not know the reviewers’ identities
  • Reviewers do not know the authors’ identities

Peer Review Steps:

  • The manuscript is assigned to an Associate Editor or Section Editor
  • 2–3 expert reviewers are invited to evaluate the manuscript
  • Reviewers assess the work based on:
    • Originality and contribution
    • Scientific soundness
    • Methodology and analysis
    • Clarity of presentation
    • Relevance of references
  • Reviewers submit their recommendation:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revisions
    • Major Revisions
    • Resubmit for Review
    • Reject
  • Based on reviewer feedback, the editor makes a decision and informs the author.
4. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are requested, authors must submit a revised manuscript along with a point-by-point response to reviewers' comments.

Revised submissions may be re-evaluated by the same reviewers.

5. Final Decision

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision for publication based on:

  • Reviewer recommendations
  • Editorial board input
  • Compliance with ethical standards and formatting
6. Publication

Once accepted:

  • The manuscript is copyedited and formatted for publication
  • Authors receive final proofs for approval
  • The article is published in the upcoming issue or as Online First (if applicable)
7. Timeline
  • Initial Screening: 3–7 days
  • Peer Review: 4–8 weeks
  • Final Decision: Within 10 weeks (average)

Note: These are estimated timelines and may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.

8. Ethical Considerations

This journal follows the ethical standards set by:

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
  • ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)

Allegations of misconduct, plagiarism, or data fabrication are handled strictly and may result in rejection or retraction.

9. Reviewer Selection and Confidentiality
