Publication Ethics
The Journal of Electrical Engineering Research (JOEER) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the ethical standards outlined below.
Authors must ensure that:
- The submitted manuscript is original, not plagiarized, and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All data used is accurately presented and honestly obtained.
- Proper citations and acknowledgments are given for all sources and collaborators.
- All authors listed have significantly contributed to the research and agree with the submission.
- Any conflicts of interest are clearly disclosed.
- Ethical approval has been obtained for studies involving human participants or animals.
- Corrections or retractions will be made if errors are discovered post-publication.
Editors are responsible for:
- Ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process.
- Making decisions based solely on the academic merit of the manuscript.
- Maintaining confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities.
- Acting on ethical concerns or complaints, including cases of suspected plagiarism or data manipulation.
- Not using unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Conduct reviews objectively and constructively, avoiding personal criticism.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscript content and peer review process.
- Disclose conflicts of interest and decline review when a conflict exists.
- Report any ethical issues such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, or falsified data.
- Complete reviews in a timely manner.
The publisher ensures that:
- The journal upholds the integrity of the academic record.
- Proper systems are in place to detect unethical practices, including plagiarism checks.
- Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are issued as needed.
- Editorial decisions are independent from commercial interests.
All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using reliable software (e.g., Turnitin). Plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, or duplicate submissions will result in:
- Immediate rejection
- Notification to the authors' institution
- Possible retraction if discovered post-publication
JOEER follows COPE’s guidelines for corrections and retractions:
- Corrections will be issued for minor errors that do not affect the overall conclusions.
- Retractions will be issued for serious ethical breaches or unreliable data.
